How do I use AI Art?

What is AI Art?

AI Art transforms your photos into stylised artwork using a choice of preset styles and characters. You select one preset per job and every eligible photo in that job is processed in the chosen style. It is available in Perfectly Clear Cloud Jobs and via the Web API.

Where do I find AI Art in Perfectly Clear Cloud?

AI Art appears as a row in the Photo Tools panel when creating or editing a job — after Glasses Glare Removal and before Background Replacement. It is off by default and is only available for photos (not videos).

How do I choose a style?

Toggle AI Art on. A Choose preset button appears. Click it to open a modal showing all available presets grouped under Styles and Characters. Select a cover thumbnail to confirm. After selecting, the modal closes and the chosen preset name and thumbnail are shown. Click Change preset to switch.

Process Job is blocked until a preset is chosen. If AI Art is toggled on but no preset is selected, the job cannot be started.

What presets are available?

A set of standard presets ships with the product and is available to all accounts. They are grouped into Styles (artistic mediums — pencil drawing, oil painting, watercolour, and more) and Characters (themed scenes such as business portrait, firefighter, and pirate).

Need something unique? We can create custom presets tailored to your brand or use case — contact us to discuss your requirements. The preset picker in Cloud shows only the presets available to your account.

Can I use a free-text prompt?

No. Cloud Jobs use preset-only selection. There is no free-text prompt field.

What output resolutions are available?

2K or 4K, selected per job. These are not fixed pixel dimensions — the actual pixel size depends on the source image aspect ratio. For example, a square source at 2K gives roughly 2048 × 2048; a 2:3 portrait at 2K gives roughly 1686 × 2528.

What are the technical limits?

AreaLimit
Minimum input500 px — smaller images are rejected with an error
Maximum input6,000 px — larger images show a warning; processing continues
FormatsJPEG, PNG (RGB/RGBA) — same as all v2/pfc tools

How long does processing take?

Roughly 10–20 seconds per image. Network conditions, image size, and the complexity of the chosen style all affect actual speed.

How do I use AI Art via the Web API?

Pass the aiArt parameter with the style or character value, and optionally aiArtOutputSize set to "2k" (default) or "4k". If aiArt is omitted, behaviour is unchanged.

Available values: pencilBw, oilPainting, cartoon, watercolor, softPastel, comics, popArt, vanGogh, christmasnye, stValentines, business, ffAdult, spring, ffKid, singlePirate, groupPirate.

What is the processing order when combined with other tools?

AI Art runs after Glasses Glare Removal and before Background Replacement. When AI Upscaling is also enabled, upscaling runs first, then AI Art uses the upscaled image as input. Note: the AI Art output resolution governs the final image size and may produce a result smaller than the upscaled intermediate — this is expected.

Can I use AI Art with AI Blemish Removal?

We do not recommend combining them. Blemish Removal runs earlier in the processing chain, so its corrections may be invisible in the final artwork — but both are billed. Use one or the other for a given job.

Is AI Art suitable for group or class photos?

It depends on the style. Pirate Groups (groupPirate) is specifically designed for groups and preserves individual faces. Most other styles are intended for single-person portraits.

Some styles are not suitable for group portraits at all: Comics (comics) and Pop Art (popArt) do not work well with groups, and Van Gogh (vanGogh) is not suited to group portraits or newborns. Check the style before recommending it for class or team photography.

Can I use AI Art for ID or passport photos?

No. AI Art is a creative stylisation tool, not an identity-preserving correction, and must never be positioned as one.

If I re-process the same image with the same preset, will I get the same result?

Yes. Generation is deterministic — re-running the same image and preset produces essentially the same result. There is no "regenerate a variation" option in Cloud Jobs. Reprocessing is billed again.
